Improving School Safety

Each of the links in this section is designed to help educators to:

-Assess the safety of their school and develop an intervention plan to meet their school's needs and resources;

-Implement research-based bully prevention programs including ways to introduce a peer warning system since bullying is an "underground activity" that is often witnessed by peers but missed by adults;

-Consider alternative programs to school suspension and zero tolerance programs. Research has demonstrated that these do not work.
